Changelog of Updates to Christ.net.au
Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you. 1 Peter 3:15

The language quizzes now have an "instant feedback" feature, which shows immediately as you answer each question if you chose the correct answer, or not. This feature can be turned on or off — untick the checkbox near the top of each quiz page to turn it off. I found that having the instant feedback helps learn the words much faster.

Now that my exams (for Hebrew and Greek) are over, I have a few weeks without formal Bible College classes — where I should be able to find the time to get this website complete enough to "go live" with it. I'll start with going over the pages that are the most incomplete/unfinished, and fix them up...
As usual I have a lot more ideas about what to put on the site than I have time to actually implement. So it's a matter of deciding what I think would be most helpful in terms of introducing people (e.g. you, who are reading this) to living a live of faith in Jesus Christ.
Mostly my aim for the site is to try to express in words, and in a way that's understandable by average modern people, the amazing joy, hope, and benefit to my own life that my faith in Jesus Christ has given me — and which is far more than anything else I've found, after decades of searching for "the answers".
Some of the things I'm weighing up are:
How much to write about myself. Since the site is meant to be about Christ, not about me, which is a reason to not write much about myself at all. However the other side of that is that if I just repeat the same generic things which are said in the Bible, and which thousands of other people have already said, then I haven't really added anything new. So I'm still figuring out the balance here.
Another thing which I feel is a balance is how "serious" a style of Christianity to promote on this website. This will take some fine-tuning and I may alter the style somewhat, until it settles into something more consistent. I think that a lot of modern Christianty (especially in rich Western countries) is watered-down — in that many people who live as Christians are not really living as disciples of Christ in the way that they did in the days of when the New Testament was written. This is not meant to be seen as a harsh, disciplinary thing, which is I think how many people do see it — instead, it's meant to be seen as (and does actually constitute) many extra benefits you can realise, and enjoy, and appreciate, that arise from more fully living for Christ.

The Bible now works in parallel mode with English and the original language (Hebrew or Greek) side by side. You can select "Parallel Original Language" from the end of the list of Bible translations available. The Bible will from then on be shown in parallel mode with whatever English translation was previously selected side by side with the original language. The original language shown will depend on whether you're looking at the Old or New Testament. To turn this off you can select "Turn Parallel Mode Off" from the end of the list of Bible translations available.
I've added several new pages in the last month. Hopefully in the autumn mid-semester break I'll get time to go over the remainder of the unfinished pages and finish them.

It's the first day of autumn. The quizzes seem to be working mostly properly now. This morning I fixed a bug that made the quiz load completely wrong occasionally. I've started adding vocabulary words from each chapter of my Hebrew and Greek textbooks to the quizzes, each week as I learn them. I should have time to keep this up throughout the year. There are still a few words with bugs in them, but they only come up very rarely. I'll try to fix these asap.
I've also got a huge amount of material in rough note form which will go on the site eventually.

I've improved several of the pages. The home page now has two new sections, one with the six latest published articles (as opposed to the last modified, which is how most of the home page directory is ordered). The other I've called "Editor's Choice" for now, and it will contain whatever I put on it. I was going to use it for the latest photo albums — however there's only one photo album so far, and it took so long to make it that it might be a while before there are enough to have a list of the latest ones.
The resolution of many of the preview pictures for posts has been improved. I found a better cover picture for the Bible pages. The Bird's Eye View of the Bible page now has something on it (other than "Coming soon...").
Under Construction
Christ.net.au is a brand new website as of October 2018, and many things are not working properly yet. A few blank/dummy pages were added so there were enough pages to make the menus and other technical things work. Eventually these will be fixed or removed.

The motherboard of my desktop computer died on Sunday. I bought it in 2008. It lived a long, busy life of a little over 10 years, which is pretty good for a computer. I bought another computer on Sunday afternoon, and I've been setting everything up on it... The new one is much faster, which will make it easier to work on this website.
Friday, 30 November 2018
I've added a couple of new pages. The wording has been further improved on a few of the existing pages. There are banner images for Open Doors, and for Michael Wurmbrand's charity "Help for Refugees", which randomly appear sometimes instead of the yellow "Under Construction" image. I've improved the picture of Jesus Christ on the "Who is Jesus Christ?" page. Several other minor improvements.

Now my exams for Bible college are out of the way, I can start working on this website again. Recent changes so far are: The Hebrew font was improved 1-2 weeks ago — it's now the SBL Hebrew Font, which is the nicest one I've found so far. Yesterday and today: Preview images when sharing in Facebook and Twitter should mostly work properly now. The main text font is slightly darker and the font for dot points is darker. The photo gallery images have a link to the next photo at the end of the descriptions. Minor edits and improvements to the content on a few of the pages.
Tuesday, 16 October 2018
Gradually I'm filling out all the blank pages I added last weekend. Most of them are in semi-complete draft form, and I'll go back over them and improve them once I've finished adding something to all the blank pages.
I've changed the links to display a "crossed out" line through links that point to blank pages, so that they look like this. Links to categories with no posts yet aren't crossed out, since you can see from the (0) in the link that there are no posts yet.
Saturday, 13 October 2018
I've added several new pages with no text content yet. At this point there should be actual pages present for all (or nearly all) of the menus and other links. Originally, many of the pages didn't exist and gave page not found errors — there shouldn't be many of these left now. Also the contact form should work now.
Thursday, 11 October 2018
The first photo gallery is up although not completed yet. A few other things are fixed up also.
Monday, 8 October 2018
The search fields now work in a basic way. Only single words and connected words are found currently, I think. Eventually this will be improved and it will be possible to search for Bible chapters and verses also.
Saturday, 6 October 2018
Christ.net.au goes online for the first time, at 2am Sydney, Australia time. There are about five incomplete pages plus the (mostly working) Bible.
Friday, 5 October 2018
Added this changelog page. Currently the Bible pages should be mostly working (including in Greek and Hebrew), and most of the menus. Though not all the menu items have pages made for them yet. There is very little actual content (writing) yet. That will be the next thing to add, starting with the introductory pages. And then I'll upload the site to become live.
